A Day Off

28 / 05 / 2012 by George 0 Comments

I made this to show what’s possible with a lot of care and bit of time. All shot with available light, over the course of a few hours.

A Day Off was featured on the Vimeo ‘Staff Picks’ Channel in early 2011, where it was displayed on the front page of Vimeo and soon began to spread across the net. It now has 60,000+ views and can be found on dozens of blogs, online galleries and social networks across the World.

I also played the piano in this video, the track is called ‘Comptine d’un autre ete: L’apres midi’ by Yann Tiersen

Man & Machine

Man & Machine is a short documentary I made for Peter Leadbeater, a chainsaw sculptor and furniture designer based in Leicester.

The film, which I directed, shot and edited in the Summer of 2011 has since acted as a great marketing tool to help Peter branch out and win more commissioned pieces.

Man & Machine was featured by Hypebeast Magazine, OEN, Think Contra and HUH Magazine.

#laptoptag

27 / 05 / 2012 by George 0 Comments

#laptoptag is a project I created in collaboration with the New York based Vimeo staff. All you have to do to take part is simply record a ‘video tag’ of yourself opening your laptop which ends with you pushing the lid all the way back.

#laptoptag tag was promoted as a joint venture between Proof and our friends at Vimeo, where upon its official launch in February 2012 it began to go viral.

People soon submitted tags from far and wide, from countries including: the UK, France, Germany, Hungary, Spain, the USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia, Australia, Colombia, India, Singapore, D. Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ireland, Turkey, Ghana and many more.

#laptoptag was featured by Creative Review, Doobie Brain, Graphism.fr and can be seen on big screens in Manchester, Derby and Leicester city centres.

To take part, join the group and get stuck in vimeo.com/groups/laptoptag

Cogs

In July 2011 I was asked by a dutch friend of mine Marjolein to help her film a short film around the concept of ‘Collaboration is the new Competition’

The result was a short film called ‘Cogs’ which featured both Creative Directors Marjoelin Van De Ham and college Adam Smith.

The film, which was shot in an afternoon and edited in under 48 hours screened in front of a live audience at Lincoln University’s end of year show in 2011

Save a life, Stay awake

27 / 05 / 2012 by George 0 Comments

Save a life, stay awake is a pilot campaign to follow up my earlier work with global road safety organization ‘Awake Ltd’.

I’m currently looking to expand the concept into a larger series of videos, featuring different scenarios and other protagonists.

Harder/Blacker

Harder/Blacker is my University graduation film which I made in early 2010.

It features a sexually frustrated protagonist who in a bid to fulfil his deepest fantasies is dragged into a downwards spiral of angst, woe and unthinkable consequences.

Harder/Blacker screened in New York City as part of an open air film festival and was submitted to the Royal Television Society in 2010.

Open Your Eyes

Open Your Eyes is a film I shot, directed and edited in November 2010. It was a commissioned by global road safety organisation ‘Awake’ to help raise awareness into the dangers of driving whilst tired.

Open Your Eyes is now being screened by companies such as BP and DHL to educate drivers on sleep driving and was featured by Frequency.com in early 2011.
